Peter Ripley has been painting for 45 years. He studied Commercial Art at Central Tech in Toronto and has also completed courses at the Ontario College of Art & Design. Peter’s chosen medium is transparent watercolour and he enjoys working wet in wet. Winter scenes, he finds, are especially conducive to this medium. Landscapes of the Muskoka area are what primarily inspire Peter and he spends most of his time painting in his studio located in Foots Bay. He has also enjoyed painting scenes from Europe after traveling there in the Fall of 2002 and most recently, the Spring of 2004. Peter has shown his paintings at the Autumn Art Sale at The McMichael Art Gallery in Klienberg, Waterfest in Midland and the Wye Marsh Festival, also in Midland And Muskoka Arts and Crafts summer show in Bracebridge of which he is a member.
